At the Düsseldorf Opera House, the Cologne-based family business D’Orphée Kulturgastronomie looks after the audience with a selection of wines, fine snacks and small delicacies: for evening performances from 5.00 pm, the Düsseldorf Opera House opens its doors to audience members with a valid ticket 90 minutes before the performance begins, provided they wish to make use of the catering facilities and have a meal before the show.

D’Orphee Kulturgastronomie brings a lot of experience to the table: this family-run business has been successfully operating restaurants in Cologne for many years, including the Ludwig im Museum, the Ludwig opera restaurant in the Staatenhaus, the Offenbach theatre restaurant at Carlsgarten, and several other cafés and restaurants, such as the moxxa.caffès with its own roastery.
With a personal commitment to quality and always on the lookout for exceptional produce, the company sources its ingredients from selected producers with whom it shares a close bond – from winegrowers, livestock and vegetable farmers, a monastery market garden and selected cooperatives in South America. From there, it sources the beans directly for its own, home-roasted organic coffee varieties, which are awarded gold medals year after year. One of these varieties, the D’Orphée Opera Coffee, can even be purchased as a small souvenir to take home.
