Alfonso Bordi

Dance Teacher
Alfonso Bordi completed his dance studies in Mexico City at the National Ballet Academy (1984-1987). From 1987 to 1989, he continued his training in the USA, graduating from the Boston School of Ballet. From 1989 to 1997, he was a member of the Atlanta Ballet in Georgia (USA), where he danced classical repertoire and neoclassical works, including those by George Balanchine. He also worked with various contemporary choreographers in the independent scene.

After returning to Mexico (1996-1998), Alfonso Bordi danced in the group El Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM, a contemporary ballet company. He then moved to Canada, where he worked with Le Groupe Dance Lab (formerly Le Groupe de la Place Royal) and collaborated with Russel Maliphant, among others.
From 2002 to 2022, Alfonso Bordi was a permanent member of VA Wölfl/Neuer Tanz. Since 2002, he has taught regularly at Tanzhaus NRW. Since 2025 he is regularly giving dance classes for people with dementia at Ballett am Rhein together with dance teacher Dawna Dryhorub.
