Damiano Pettenella

Lead Ballet Master and Head of Ballet Education of "Tanz mit!"
Damiano Pettenella started his dance training at age 11 at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan where he graduated in 2000 as a professional Classical Ballet Dancer.
In 2005 he received the Diploma for Advanced Training Dance Education at the John Cranko Ballet School. Still dancing at the Stuttgart Ballet Damiano Pettenella learned the job directly on the field working beside choreographers Bridget Breiner, Katarzyna Kozielska and Demis Volpi.
In the season 2014/15 he was in charge of major parts of the Stuttgart Ballet repertoire by rehearsing and staging full length ballets, choreographies for mixed evening and gala pieces. He worked as a Guest Ballet Master at the Finnish National Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Innsbruck Ballet, Ballet in Revier and Teatro Massimo Palermo where he also assisted Luigi Bonino staging “L’Arlesienne” by choreographer Roland Petit.
Damiano Pettenella also coaches many international Principal Dancer across the world including Svetlana Zakharova, Alicia Amatriain, Maria Eichwald, Denis Rodkin, Filip Barankiewicz, Daniel Camargo, Elisa Badenes, Silvia Azzoni.
With more then 1100 performances with the Stuttgart Ballet, his experience have reached the highest possible level in the dance world. As a soloist Damiano Pettenella collaborated with leading choreographers such as Mauro Bigonzetti, Jorma Elo, William Forsythe, Maximiliano Guerra, Marco Goecke, Hans Van Manen, Wayne McGregor, John Neumeier, Roland Petit, Christian Spuck, Glen Tetley and Demis Volpi.
He also performed Leading Roles in works by choreographers Maurice Béjart, John Cranko, Jirí Kylián, Kenneth MacMillan, George Balanchine and Rudolf Nureyev.
