Darija Auguštan

Born in Zagreb, Darija Auguštan is a highly acclaimed Croatian soprano who has made a name for herself internationally on both operatic and concert stages. She completed her studies at the Zagreb Music Academy under Professor Snježana Bujanović-Stanislav. Auguštan was also a member of the Giorgio Surian Opera Studio at the Croatian National Theatre (HNK) in Rijeka and has won numerous first prizes—including at the Mikuláš Trnavský, Zinka Milanov, Mario Orlandoni, and Tullio Serafin competitions—as well as second prizes at the Stanislaw Moniuszko and Virgilijus Noreika competitions. Her repertoire includes major roles such as Musetta (Puccini’s “La Bohème”), Pamina (Mozart’s “The Magic Flute”), Fiordiligi (Mozart’s “Così fan tutte”), Adele (Strauss “Die Fledermaus”), Lauretta (Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi”), Magda (Puccini’s “La Rondine”), Micaëla (Bizet’s “Carmen”), the Vixen (Janáček’s “The Cunning Little Vixen”), and the title role in Kálmán’s “Countess Maritza”. In concert, she has performed with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Croatian Radio Orchestra and Choir, and numerous other international ensembles.
In the 2026/27 season, Darija Auguštan will make a guest appearance at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Violetta Valéry in Verdi’s “La traviata”.
