Elisa Marschall
Dance Teacher
Elisa Marschall is a German-Nicaraguan dancer, choreographer and dance and theatre educator. She studied dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and furthered her training as a DAAD scholarship holder at the ArtEZ Academy of Arts in Arnhem. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Scenic Research at Ruhr University Bochum.
As a dancer and performer, she has many years of professional stage experience both in Germany and abroad and has worked in various contexts of contemporary dance, theatre and musical theatre, including with Susanne Linke, Mara Kurotschka, Philipp Stölzl and the Renegade Theatre. Since 2019, she has been working as a freelancer in North Rhine-Westphalia at the intersection of artistic practice and outreach. As part of the interdisciplinary performance collective schall&kreck, she develops her own artistic works. In dance and theatre education, she works with various age groups, is part of the team at the Forumtheater inszene in Cologne and works, amongst other things, as a dance teacher at tanzhaus nrw. Since 2026, she has been part of the teaching team at Tanz mit! + Tanz mal! and teaches in the mixed-ability dance programme at the Ballett am Rhein.
Her artistic and educational practice combines contemporary dance and improvisation with yoga, somatic approaches and methods of resilience and trauma work. This is underpinned by the yoga teacher training she completed in India in 2014, as well as a foundation course in Capacitar methods. Breathing, body awareness and the participants’ individual experience of movement are central elements of her teaching practice.
