Inka Aurora Saavalainen

Inka Aurora Saavaleinen was born in Helsinki, Finland, and began taking cello lessons at the age of nine. She completed her studies in Helsinki and Essen under Prof. Arto Noras and Prof. Young-Chang Cho, graduating with honors. She was a scholarship recipient of the Paulo Foundation and the DAAD, and has performed as a soloist with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, the Helsinki Sinfonietta, and the Helsinki Strings. In 2015, she was accepted as a scholarship recipient into the Orchestra Academy of the Hessian State Orchestra. From 2016 to 2018, she played with the Hamburg State Philharmonic Orchestra, and during the 2018–2019 season, she was a principal cellist with the Aachen Symphony Orchestra. Since January 2020, Inka Saavalainen has been a member of the cello section of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra.
