Born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, Iris Rocío Dávila began her ballet training at La Escuela Especializada en Ballet Julián E. Blanco and Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico.
After receiving a scholarship to the San Francisco Ballet School in 2018, she trained under the direction of Patrick Armand and appeared in productions including George Balanchine’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, Helgi Tomasson’s “The Nutcracker” and “Sleeping Beauty”, and Tomasson/Yuri Possokhov’s “Don Quixote”. Following her graduation, she joined Tulsa Ballet II for the 2020/21 season.
Dávila became a member of BalletMet in Columbus in 2021 and was named one of Dance Magazine’s “Rising Star in 2023”. Her repertoire includes soloist and principal roles in works by renowned choreographers such as George Balanchine, Twyla Tharp, Remi Wörtmeyer, Edwaard Liang, Justin Peck, Ulysses Dove, David Nixon, Ma Cong, Martha Graham and Trey McIntyre.
