British composer Jeremy Birchall trained as a violinist at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and is based in London. His works can be found in many different musical genres, including TV music, advertising, but also dance and theater. He has contributed to the soundtracks for series such as “Ripper Street”, “Fortress Britain”, ‘Survivor’, “Britain's Most Historic Towns”, “Elizabeth is Missing” and “Free Rein”, while in advertising he has worked for Marks and Spencer, Amazon Alexa, Lenor, Sky, Morrisons, Vodafone and Capital One, among others.
He has a long-standing collaboration with choreographer Stina Quagebeur. This has resulted in compositions for ballets such as “Nostalgia” for the Northern Ballet, which was performed at the Royal Opera House, and “Catching Color”, a collaboration between the English National Ballet and The Line. “Hungry Ghosts”, a ballet about the opioid crisis in the USA, was commissioned by the Joffrey Ballet in February 2024 and premiered at the Lyric Opera House in Chicago. The music portal Headphone Commute described Birchall's score as “captivating and evocative, capturing the chaos and tragedy of drug addiction”. This was followed by “Everything InBetween”, a ballet for BalletX, which premiered in Philadelphia in July 2024, and “Liquid Life”, a ballet commissioned by the McNicol Ballet Collective, which was first seen at the Royal Academy of Music in 2025.
Jeremy Birchall also writes production music for the music libraries of Universal, EMI, Sony, BMG, SATV and Faber Music for BBC, ITV and Channel 4 programs, among others.
