Kilian Smith

Born in London, Kilian Smith trained at the Royal Ballet School from 2007 to 2015. A British-Irish national, he began his professional career with the National Ballet of Portugal before joining the Polish National Ballet in 2019. From 2023 he was a member of Ballett Zürich and joins Ballett am Rhein for the 2026/27 season.

His repertoire spans both classical and contemporary works by choreographers including Kenneth MacMillan, Wayne McGregor, Crystal Pite, Marco Goecke, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, William Forsythe, Marcos Morau and Akram Khan.

Among his notable roles are Mercutio in Krzysztof Pastor’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Renfield in Pastor’s “Dracula” — a performance that earned him a Dance Europe nomination for “Outstanding Performance by a Male Dancer” — and the Dancair in Mats Ek’s “Carmen”.
