Rakefet Levy

Rakefet Levy is a graduate of The School of Art – Hamidrasha and the Shenkar College. Rakefet taught in academic institutions including Shenkar College, The School of Visual Theatre Jerusalem, Vital College for the Arts and the Bezalel Academy for Art and Design. She established the School of Visual Art and Stage Design in Tel Aviv. Rakefet designed sets and costumes for Israel's leading theatres, for plays of Hanoch Levin, Yossi Izraeli, Rina Yerushalmi, Hanan Snir, Ofira Henig, Yossi Polack and Yvgeni Arieh. She won numerous Israeli Academy of Theatre awards. She directed and designed Cinderella for the New Israeli Opera (2007) and has also designed costumes for film, television and musicals.
Starting in 1991 Rakefet collaborated many times with Ohad Naharin, designing costumes for his productions for the Batsheva Dance Company and Batsheva - the Young Ensemble.
