Yulian Botnarenko

With the ensemble since 2026/27

Yulian Botnarenko graduated from Canada’s National Ballet School in 2007. From 2011 to 2017, he was a member of Ballett Kiel, where his repertoire included the title role in „Romeo and Juliet“, Siegfried in „Swan Lake“ and Prince Désiré in „The Sleeping Beauty“. During this time, he worked with choreographers including Yaroslav Ivanenko, Marguerite Donlon and Daryl Toulon.

In the 2017/18 season, he joined Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe as a guest artist, where he performed the role of Mercutio in Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s „Romeo and Juliet“.

From 2018 to 2019, he danced with Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck. There, he performed the principal role in Uwe Scholz’s „Oktett“, as well as Nacho Duato’s „Por Vos Muero“ and leading roles in works by Enrique Gasa Valga.
From 2021 to 2024, he returned to Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he worked with artistic director and choreographer Bridget Breiner, performing in „Maria Stuart“, „The Nutcracker“, „Was ihr wollt“, „Blessed Unrest“ and other productions. During this engagement, he also danced works by Glen Tetley, David Dawson, Youri Vámos and Kevin O’Day.

In addition, Yulian Botnarenko has toured internationally, performing principal roles from the classical repertoire, including „Swan Lake“, „The Sleeping Beauty“ and „The Nutcracker“.
