Music that smiles
In the stylish ambience of the foyer of the Düsseldorf Opera House, members of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, together with singers from the opera ensemble, explore well-known and lesser-known masterpieces of chamber music on selected Sundays and public holidays.
This season, the musicians span a wide range, from the masterful vocal works of true masters to the music of the wild 1930s—composed with a sharp pen and tongue—and on to chamber music inspired by literary works, which, by the end of the season, will bring a smile to more than just the audience’s faces. Of course, a matinee featuring contemplative music during the pre-Christmas season and a celebration of the joyful “fifth season” are also a must.
