The Romanian soprano Luiza Fatyol graduated with distinction from the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca. During her studies, she participated in numerous national and international competitions, was always among the winners and distinguished herself by her sensitivity and musicality. From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and joined the ensemble in the 2014/15 season. Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro"), Donna Elvira (Mozart "Don Giovanni"), Vitellia (Mozart "La clemenza di Tito"), Adina (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore"), Norina (Donizetti "Don Pasquale"), Juliette (Gounod "Roméo et Juliette"), Micaëla (Bizet "Carmen"), Gilda (Verdi "Rigoletto"), Lauretta (Puccini "Gianni Schicchi"), Violetta Valéry (Verdi "La traviata"), Nedda (Leoncavallo "I Pagliacci") and Gerhilde (Wagner "Die Walküre"). Guest engagements have taken her to the Komische Oper Berlin, the Dortmund Theatre, the Essen Philharmonie and the Romanian State Operas of Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara. In 2020 she recorded Meyerbeer's "Romilda e Costanza" for Naxos Records and in 2022 the opera "Le Philtre" composed by Auber at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad. The highlights of her career in 2023 will be her debuts as Liù (Puccini "Turandot") and Salomé (Massenet "Hérodiade") at the Rheinoper as well as Marietta / Marie in "Die Tote Stadt" (Korngold) with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra in New Zealand.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2023/24 season Luiza Fatyol interprets the roles of Violetta Valéry, Nedda, Madame Lidoine (Poulenc "Dialogues des Carmélites"), Liù, Agnes Sorel (Tchaikovsky "The Maid of Orleans") and 1st Lady (Mozart "The Magic Flute").
