Life writes the best stories, Marylou is convinced of that. The self-confident daughter of the American film producer Makintosh, who is on the verge of bankruptcy, travels across the ocean and finds not only the great fairy tale worth telling in a grand hotel in the south of France, but also a cast that Hollywood could not have dreamed up more beautifully: an eccentric infanta, her foppish fiancé and a languishing hotel heir who stumbles through the action undercover as a room waiter. So "Klappe - die Erste" is the motto for the hoped-for class hit, carried by Paul Abraham's lusty and versatile music - from waltzes to foxtrots and hits to tap dancing. Happy ending included!
