Daniel Luis de Vicente

Born in Florida, USA, Daniel de Vicente completed his musical education at the University of South Florida in 2008 with a Master of Music degree. From 2009 to 2010 he deepened his studies at the Accademia Lirica Santa Croce in Trieste and was also a member of the Young Ensemble of Opera Colorado from 2014 to 2015. Engagements led the baritone to various Italian opera houses. In the 2016/2017 season, he made his debut in Germany, first with the Bochumer Symphoniker under Steven Sloane and then in concert at the 2017 Darmstadt Residence Festival. In the following season, he made his stage debut in Germany in the title role of the German premiere of Manuel Penella's opera "El Gato Montés" at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. In 2018, he appeared on stage at the Tiroler Landestheater as Paolo Albiani in Verdi's "Simon Boccanegra" and also interpreted this role at the Staatstheater Mainz. After returning to the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern in the 2019/2020 season as Giorgio Germont in Verdi's "La traviata", he took on the roles of Michele and Gianni Schicchi in Puccini's "Triptych" at the Tiroler Landestheater, which he also interpreted at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. As Rigoletto in Verdi's opera of the same name, he appeared on the lake stage at the Bregenz Festival in 2021 and also made guest appearances in this role at the Volksoper in Vienna, the National Theater in Prague and, among others, at the State Opera in Hanover. His repertoire further includes the role of Scarpia (Puccini "Tosca") - a role that Daniel Luis de Vicente has sung in Innsbruck and at the Frankfurt Opera and with which he will be experienced for the first time at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2022/23 season.
