Andreas Meyer-Hanno

Andreas Meyer-Hanno was born in Berlin in 1932 and died in Frankfurt am Main on September 7, 2006. In 1949 he began to study music and theater. After receiving his doctorate in 1956, he was hired as assistant director of the opera in Wuppertal, where he was second stage manager from 1959 to 1964. From 1964 to 1972 he was opera director at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and from 1972 to 1976 at the Staatstheater Braunschweig. In his 20 years in the theater, he worked on more than 100 opera productions. In 1976 he followed the call as professor at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt, where he taught as scenic director until his retirement in 1993.
