Born in Sicily, Calogero Failla, known as Calo, trained at the École Nationale de Marseille before embarking on an international career spanning both classical and contemporary repertoire.

He has danced with Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Singapore Ballet, the Slovak National Theatre, Tiroler Landestheater, Ballet Nice Méditerranée, Ballett am Rhein and Wiener Staatsballett, performing works by choreographers including George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Martin Schläpfer, Hans van Manen, Jiří Kylián, Rudolf Nureyev, Alexei Ratmansky, John Neumeier, Christopher Wheeldon, Ohad Naharin, Pierre Lacotte and Uwe Scholz.

His repertoire ranges from the great classical ballets to key works of the 20th and 21st centuries, reflecting a versatile artistic practice shaped by technical precision, musicality and stylistic breadth. Alongside his career as a dancer, he is currently pursuing university studies in rehearsal direction, furthering his interest in the creative process, the transmission of repertoire and the collaboration between dancers, choreographers and répétiteurs.
