Matthias Knaab

Matthias Knaab studied acting, singing, and dance at the Institute of Music at the Osnabrück Hochschule.
His engagements have taken him to, among others, the Ingolstadt City Theater, the Erfurt Theater, the Osnabrück Theater, the Giessen City Theater, the Mainz State Theater, the Magdeburg Theater, the Wuppertal Opera, the Hagen Theater, and the Oldenburg State Theater, where he appeared in stage productions of “Jedermann” (Böhmer), “The Threepenny Opera” (Weill), “Mamma Mia!” (Andersson/Ulvaeus), and “Jesus Christ Superstar” (Lloyd Webber).
Matthias also played Sir Robin in “Monty Python’s Spamalot” (Du Prez/Idle), Mottel in “Anatevka” (Bock), Eddie/Dr. Scott in “The Rocky Horror Show” (O’Brien), Lurch in “The Addams Family” (Lippa), the Master of Ceremonies/James in “The Three Musketeers” (Bolland), Tusenbach in Chekhov’s “Three Sisters,” and Carmen Ghia in Mel Brooks’ “The Producers.”
He can be seen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in “My Fair Lady” (Lerner/Loewe).
