The German-Greek soprano Anna Sophia Theil began her vocal training with Prof. Gabriele Fuchs in Munich and completed her Bachelor's degree in singing and vocal pedagogy in 2021 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. She is currently completing a Master's degree in Music Theatre and a Master's degree in Singing with Prof. Hermine Haselböck. She also attended master classes with KS Edith Mathis, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Mario Antonio Diaz Varas, Prof. Ulf Bästlein and Charles Spencer. Anna Sophia Theil won first prize at the IMMCC Maribor international Singing Competition 2020 and was a scholarship holder of the Province of Styria in 2021. During her studies she performed roles such as the Nun (Poulenc "Dialogues des Carmélites"), Cupido (Offenbach "Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro") and Miss Wordsworth (Britten "Albert Herring"). She made her debut at the Stephaniensaal of the Musikverein Graz in 2019 as part of a "musical aperitif". Since then she has sung the first soprano in Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's "Lobgesang" under Christoph Altstaedt and Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck's original version of "Hänsel und Gretel" there. From the 2022/23 season she will be a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she will perform, among others Giannetta (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore"), Ida (Strauss (Son) "Die Fledermaus"), Sandmännchen (Humperdinck "Hänsel und Gretel"), Papagena (Mozart "Die Zauberflöte"), Juliette (Korngold "Die tote Stadt") and in the concert "Weihnachten mit Freunden" on the stages in Düsseldorf and Duisburg.
