Opera Studio

The aim of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein is to support highly talented young singers from all over the world on their way to an artistic career and to provide them with optimal preparation for the profession. This includes regular solo auditions, repertoire development, ensemble rehearsals, role studies, audition training, language coaching, scenic workshops and musical master classes.
For seven young singers, the 2026–27 season marks the first of two seasons at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein’s Opera Studio: Conrad Chatteron (Bariton), Robin Frindt (Bass), Mathilde Guedj (Sopran), Janetka Hoşco (Mezzosopran), Laura Miah (Sopran), Ivan Reséndiz (Tenor) und Maria van Hoof (Mezzosopran).
Direction & Singers
The core principle of the Opera Studio at Deutsche Oper am Rhein is integration into the ensemble and the rehearsal and performance process in order to give the young singers as much stage experience as possible.
During the 2026–27 season, members of the Opera Studio will appear on stage in numerous productions at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, including “La traviata,” “The Magic Flute,” “La Bohème,” “Fairy Tales at the Grand Hotel,” “Hansel and Gretel,” “Tosca,” “Manon,” “Carmen,” “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” “Pinocchio,” “Il trovatore,” “Le nozze di Figaro,” “Jenůfa,” and “Lucia di Lammermoor.”

A regular feature of the Opera Studio programme is the master classes with internationally acclaimed artists, who each spend an entire week of intensive daily work with the Opera Studio, passing on their expertise to the young generation.
