David Fischer, a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble since the 2019/20 season, made his role debut here in 2021 as Tamino (Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte") and took on roles such as Beppo (Leoncavallo's "Pagliacci"), Malcom (Verdi's "Macbeth"), Tybalt (Gounod's "Roméo et Juliette"), Harlequin (Ullmann's "Der Kaiser von Atlantis"), Alfred in J. Strauss' (son) "Die Fledermaus" and Steuermann in Wagner's "Der fliegende Holländer", among others. He also made a guest appearance as Tamino at the Salzburg Festival. Internationally, the tenor has a busy concert schedule. Engagements with René Jacobs, Philippe Herreweghe, Frieder Bernius and Sylvain Cambreling have taken him on national and international tours and to the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also appeared repeatedly with the NDR Hannover, under Ádám Fischer in Budapest and Howard Arman in Wroclaw. With the pianist Pauliina Tukiainen, David Fischer also regularly presents recitals at festivals such as the Bonn Schumannfest. In the 2022/23 season he made a guest appearance as Piquillo in Offenbach's "La Périchole" at the Theater an der Wien and will appear on the concert podium at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and the Hamburg Ballett, among others. A recording of J.S. Bach's "St. John Passion" (Evangelist) is being made with the Leipzig Thomanerchor and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin under Andreas Reize. With the Duisburg Philharmonic he presents Schumann's "Scenes from Goethe's Faust" and appears as Agenore (Mozart "Il re pastore") at the Salzburg Festival.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2023/24 he will appear as Tamino, Lenskij (Tchaikovsky "Eugene Onegin"), Beppo and Steuermann.www.david-fischer.net
