Doris Becker

Doris Becker trained as a dancer at the State Ballet School of Berlin. She was then engaged by the Ballet of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2005, where she appeared in numerous works by Youri Vàmos and also danced for choreographers such as Mats Ek, Jiří Kylián and Petr Zuska. She has been a member of Ballett am Rhein since August 2009, where Martin Schläpfer created several roles for her. She expanded her repertoire here with works choreographed by Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Regina van Berkel, August Bournonville, Martin Chaix, Nils Christe, Hubert Essakow, William Forsythe, Natalia Horecna, Young Soon Hue, Kurt Jooss, Antoine Jully, Terence Kohler, Hans van Manen, Amanda Miller, Teresa Rotemberg, Remus Şucheană, Antony Tudor, Twyla Tharp, Azure Barton and Demis Volpi. She was seen most recently as Mrs Smith in Andrey Kaydanovskiy’s ‘Die kahle Sängerin’, in the role of the Mother in Demis Volpi’s ‘The Nutcracker’ and as a Bandit in Roland Petit’s ‘Carmen’.
