Argentinian born dancer Emilia Peredo Aguirre joined the ballet company at the Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, in 2012, starting in the corps de ballet, and moving on to become a principal dancer and soloist, dancing numerous leading roles including the title role in ‘La Sylphide’ (Pierre Lacotte), Juliet in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (Kenneth MacMillan), Clara/Luisa in ‘The Nutcracker’ (Rudolf Nureyev), Swanilda in ‘Coppélia’ (Enrique Martinez) and Gulnara in ‘Le Corsaire’ (Anna-Marie Holmes). She also appeared in Jerome Robbins’s ‘Fancy Free’, Nacho Duato’s ‘Por vos muero’, William Forsythe’s ‘In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated’, Sir Peter Wright’s ‘Swan Lake’ and Vladimir Vasiliev’s ‘Don Quijote’. Her dance mentor was Philip Balmain Beamish. She has taken intensive courses at the American Academy of Ballet and The School of American Ballet of New York, USA, and classes with Maximiliano Guerra, Lidia Segni, Paloma Herrera and other distinguished teachers in Buenos Aires. Emilia Peredo Aguirre became a member of the Ballett am Rhein company at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. Since then, she has danced in Twyla Tharp’s ‘Commentaries on the Floating World’, the role of Mary in Andrey Kaydanovskiy’s ‘Die kahle Sängerin’ and the roles of Gina in ‘Geschlossene Spiele’ and Clara in ‘The Nutcracker’, both choreographed by Demis Volpi.
