Futaba Ishizaki trained as a dancer at Yamaji Rumiko Ballet School in her native Tokyo and at the Hamburg Ballet School John Neumeier, where her teachers included Marianna Kruse and Kevin Haigen. Her professional career also began at Hamburg Ballett, where her roles included the lead in ‘Giselle’ and Helena in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ (both choreographed by John Neumeier). She also appeared in major works choreographed by Pierre Lacotte and August Bournonville. She then joined the company of Houston Ballet for the 2016-2017 season, before moving on to the Hungarian National Ballet Budapest in 2017, where he she danced as Tamara in "Chroma" (Wayne McGregor), in "Falling Angels" (Jiří Kylián), "Bedroom Folk" (Sharon Eyal) as well as in other works choreographed by George Balanchine, Robert North, Wayne Eagling, Hans van Manen, Frederick Ashton, Alexander Ekman and Rudi van Dantzig. Futaba Ishizaki became a member of the Ballett am Rhein company at the beginning of the 2020/21 season. Since then, her roles here have included the Student in Flemming Flindt’s "The Lesson" and Gina in "Geschlossene Spiele", the Maid in "The Nutcracker", Kantorka in "Krabat", in "Bluebeard’s Castle" and "The thing with feathers", all choreographed by Demis Volpi. She has also danced the title role in Roland Petit’s ‘Carmen’ and Emilie in Aszure Barton’s ‘Baal’, the role of Coppélia in "Coppélia x Machina" by Hélène Blackburn, the novice in "The Cage" by Jerome Robbins and in "From time to time" by John Neumeier as well as "Artifact II" by William Forsythe.
