Harry Ogg

The British conductor Harry Ogg has been Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2022/23 season. In the same season, he will also make debuts at the podiums of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the French symphony orchestra Les Sciécles and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as returning to the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Dresden Philharmonie. He has previously made recent debuts with the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse. From 2019 to 2022 he was Musical Assistant to François-Xavier Roth at the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. In addition to his own various projects, he filled in for François-Xavier Roth as well as Nicholas Collon with great success. Harry Ogg worked as Associate Conductor at the Welsh National Opera, where he conducted Bizet's "Carmen" as well as various gala concerts. He also conducted "Königskinder" (Humperdinck), "Das schlaue Füchslein" (Janáček), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck) and Madama Butterfly (Puccini) at various opera houses in Europe. Ogg has won numerous prizes and awards, including 3rd prize in the Mahler Conducting Competition in 2020, 2nd prize in the MDR Competition in 2018, and was a finalist in the Donatella Flick Competition. In the 2022/23 season at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, he will take over the musical direction of "Die Tote Stadt" (Korngold), "Tosca" (Puccini), "Don Giovanni", "Hänsel und Gretel", "Die Zauberflöte" (Mozart) and "Iwein Löwenritter" (Moritz Eggert).
