The Romanian-born soprano Luiza Fatyol comes from a family of musicians. She graduated with distinction from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca. Luiza Fatyol has won numerous prizes, including the Romanian Song Competition organised by the Romanian Union of Composers and the Hariclea Darclée International Singing Competition in Braila. From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein’s Opera Studio, joining the full ensemble at the beginning of the 2014/15 season.
Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna (Mozart ‘Le nozze di Figaro’), Donna Elvira (Mozart ‘Don Giovanni’), Vitellia (Mozart ‘La clemenza di Tito’), Adina (Donizetti ‘L’elisir d’amore’), Norina (Donizetti ‘Don Pasquale’), Juliette (Gounod ‘Roméo et Juliette’), Micaëla (Bizet ‘Carmen’), Jungfer Anna Reich (Nicolai ‘Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor’), Gilda (Verdi ‘Rigoletto’), Lauretta (Puccini ‘Il trittico’), Violetta Valéry (Verdi ‘La traviata’) and Nedda (Leoncavallo ‘Pagliacci’).
