Australian bass Luke Stoker received his training in Brisbane. While still a student, he received the Wagner Society Award. In 2011 he was accepted into the Young Artists Program of Opera Queensland, and in 2012 he began his collaboration with Opera Australia in Sydney. He made his debut as Masetto (Mozart "Don Giovanni") at the West Australian Opera in 2013. Before becoming an ensemble member of Opera Cologne in the 2015/16 season, he was enagaged in the Cologne Opera Studio from 2013 as a scholarship holder of the Opera Foundation Australia's German Opera Scholarship. During his time in Cologne he sang roles such as Masetto, Sciarrone (Puccini "Tosca"), Zaretzky (Tchaikovsky "Eugene Onegin"), Zuniga (Bizet "Carmen"), Schaunard (Puccini "La Bohème"), Titurel (Wagner "Parsifal") and Bonzo (Puccini "Madama Butterfly"). In 2016 Luke Stoker joined the ensemble of Theater Dortmund, where he sang Sarastro (Mozart "The Magic Flute"), Mephisto (Gounod "Faust") and Gremin (Tchaikovsky "Eugene Onegin"). In 2017 he made his debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris and has been a regular guest there ever since. He also made guest appearances at the Opera Festival in the St. Margarethen Quarry in 2017 and 2019 as Sparafucile (Verdi "Rigoletto") and Sarastro. In 2020 he made his house debuts at the Volksoper Wien as Escamillo (Bizet "Carmen") and the Oper Köln as 1st Nazarene (R. Strauss "Salome"). Since the 2019/20 season Luke Stoker has been engaged at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where he has appeared as Abimélech (Saint-Saëns "Samson et Dalila"), Colline (Puccini "La Bohème"), Bonzo, 1st Soldier (R. Strauss "Salome"), Der Tod (Ullmann "Der Kaiser von Atlantis"), Capulet (Blacher "Romeo und Julia"), Sarastro, Marchese d'Obigny (Verdi "La traviata"), Raimondo (Donizetti "Lucia di Lammermoor"), Figaro (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro") and Phanuel (Massenet "Hérodiade") on stage. Parts for the 2023/24 season include Titurel, Timur (Puccini "Turandot"), Bonzo, Sarastro, Police Commissioner/Notary (Strauss "Der Rosenkavalier"), Alidoro (Rossini "La Cenerentola") and Marchese d'Obigny.
