Nadja Görts

Nadja Görts received her first music and ballet lessons at the age of four. She studied singing, dance and acting in Osnabrück and trained as a dance and movement teacher during her studies. She is currently studying for a Master's degree in "Dance - Education, Research, Artistic Practice" at the German Sport University in Cologne. Nadja Görts has performed in numerous musicals such as "Evita" and "Aida" at the Tecklenburg Open Air Festival, "My Fair Lady", "Cabaret" and "The Rocky Horror Show" at the Clingenburg Festival, and "The Phantom of the Opera" on tour through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In productions of the Philharmonic Society Düsseldorf she sang in "Orpheus and Euridice" (Gluck), "The Merry Widow"(Lehár) and embodied the role of Public Opinion in Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld"; at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus she was a guest in "Nur Pferden gibt man den Gnadenschuss" and "Die Mitwisser". At the Hagen Theatre she was engaged in Weber's "Der Freischütz" and Puccini's "Turandot", at the Ruhrtriennale in Bochum in "Europeras 1&2". In these productions she worked with the choreographers Dr. Einav Katan-Schmid, Richard Siegal and Florian Bilbao as well as the directors Heiner Goebbels, Christof Loy, Amelié Niermeyer and Holger Hauer. Nadja Görts works as a choreographer and director at home and abroad. At the Clingenburg Festival she choreographed "Dracula", "Aladin", "Ein Münchner im Himmel und in der Hölle", "Der gestiefelte Kater", "Klara & Abbas". In Willingen she was responsible for the choreography of "Robin Hood" and at the Wuppertal TIC Theatre for the musical classic "Singing in the rain" and the musical comedy "Ewig jung". Her first dance film "Dignity" is currently showing at international festivals and has won, among others, the award for "Best Choreography Filmed" in Los Angeles, the "Peoples Choice Award" in Philadelphia, "Best Student Film 1st Place" in Utah and "Best Dance Film (Short)" in Berlin. Her stage adaptation celebrated its premiere in April at the Cromford Manor in Ratingen. She is a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and is supported by Dis-Tanz-Solo. Her current project "Wiegenlieder", a contemporary dance piece about the relationship between mother and daughter will premiere in Cologne in November 2022.
Having already worked as a freelancer in music theatre education, Nadja Görts has been part of the Junge Oper's permanent team since the beginning of the 2022/23 season.
