Jacob Harrison

The English bass-baritone Jacob Harrison studied singing with Christiano Manzoni and Anna Auguri at the Accademia Europea di Firenze and International Relations at the University of Exeter before furthering his vocal studies with Robert Dean at the Giuldhall School of Music & Drama in London. He also took part in several master classes with Lise Davidsen, Adrian Kelly and Ann Murray, among others. Jacob Harrison has received numerous prizes and scholarships, including the Wyburd Prize for Lied in 2021, the Keith Bonnington Prize and the Weston Award at the Chris Treglown Competition in 2022 and the Van Allan Opera Award in 2024. In 2023 he was also an Opera Europa Eva Kleinitz Fellow. His repertoire includes roles such as Figaro (Mozart “Le nozze di Figaro”), Don Quixote (de Falla “Meister Pedros Puppenspiel”), Lord Fortune (Weir “Miss Fortune”), Der Begleiter des Zaren (Weill “Der Zar lässt sich fotografieren”), Prison Guard 2 (Heggie “Dead Man Walking”), Der Tod (Holst “Salvitri”), Il Re / L'Ambasciatore / Un Boscaiolo (Respighi “La bella dormente nel bosco”) and Pedro Paramo (McNeff “A Star Next to the Moon”). Jacob Harrison has been a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2024/25 season and will be seen here as Marchese d'Obigny (Verdi “La traviata”), Saretzkij (Tchaikovsky “Eugene Onegin”), Sciarrone (Puccini “Tosca”) and 2nd Armored Man (Mozart “The Magic Flute”), among others.
