Paolo Fossa is a teacher, choreographer, and dancer. After graduating from high school, he studied Italian literature and film studies at the University of Genoa, but dropped out to pursue his career as a dancer.
In 1999, he moved to Germany, where he worked at various theaters, including in Heidelberg, Bielefeld, Darmstadt, and Bremen. Since 2007, he has been working as a freelancer and dancing in various ensembles in Germany and abroad. At the same time, he devotes himself to choreography and teaching contemporary dance and improvisation techniques at a professional level at academies, universities, theaters, and independent dance companies, including the Folkwang University of the Arts and over 15 state and municipal theaters.
In 2021, he received a certificate in dance medicine from the TaMed Dance and Medicine Association. Parallel to his work on stage, he cooperates with private and state institutions and schools and carries out various projects with young people and people with different physical and cognitive abilities.
In addition, since 2022, he has been teaching regularly in the Take-off program of Tanzhaus NRW and in the Tanz Mit! program of Ballett am Rhein in over ten schools in the Düsseldorf/Duisburg region. He also gives courses and workshops for amateurs at Tanzhaus NRW and is regularly invited to seminars on educational methods for young people and inclusion—including by LAG Tanz NRW.
