At regular intervals through the season, we want to open the doors of the ballet house and give all those interested the chance to gain some insights into our work. What does the daily routine look like in the heart, the nucleus of the Ballett am Rhein? Everyone is invited to come and see for themselves.

Open training

Orazio di Bella during a rehearsal for “ad absurdum”.
How is a ballet performance created? The company’s dancers rehearse for weeks before the premiere to learn new choreography and improve on what they have already learned. To a professional dancer, no detail is too small and no movement lacks meaning. Normally the results of the rehearsal process will only be presented to the public after dozens of hours of repetition and exploration. Visit one of our open rehearsals in order to have a look behind the scenes and gain an impression of the process by which a ballet is created.
Daily ballet training gives dancers the chance to continue their artistic and physical development. The dancers train six days a week under the guidance of our team of répétiteurs. This training lays the foundations for their intensive work in rehearsals and performances. On selected Saturdays we invite all those who are interested to come and watch the company at one of these training sessions.
