Magnus Todenes Bror

Norwegian tenor Bror Magnus Tødenes trained in Trondheim and at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, and is a former member of the Salzburg Festival Young Singers Project. A winner of both the First Prize and Audience Prize at the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition, Tødenes is also the youngest recipient of the Erling Kroghs Grant from the Norwegian National Opera.
His most recent engagements include debuts at the Oper im Steinbruch St. Margarethen and the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Cavaradossi in “Tosca” (Puccini), as well as Pinkerton in “Madama Butterfly” (Puccini) at the Polish National Opera. He has also appeared in the role of Alfredo in “La traviata” (Verdi) at the Polish National Opera, the Royal Swedish Opera, and the Prague National Opera. His repertoire also includes Rodolfo in “La Bohème” (Puccini) at the Royal Swedish Opera and the Norwegian National Opera, Ismaele in “Nabucco” (Verdi) at the Wiener Staatsoper, and Macduff in “Macbeth” (Verdi) at the Opéra de Lyon. Other highlights include Carlo in “Giovanna d’Arco” (Verdi) at the Copenhagen Festival and the Malmö Opera, the title role in “La clemenza di Tito” (Mozart) at the Prague National Theater under the baton of Marc Minkowski, as well as appearances at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse as Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor” (Donizetti) and Lenski in “Eugene Onegin” (Tchaikovsky).
In the 2026–27 season, Tødenes returns to the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse as Lancelot in “Le roi Arthus,” (Chausson) and makes his house debut at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Alfredo in Verdis “La traviata”.
