Futaba Sakaguchi

Futaba Sakaguchi was born in Tokyo. After studying violin with Prof Gerhard Bosse at Tokyo Geijutsu-Daigaku (Tokyo State University of Fine Arts and Music), she went to Germany, where she was accepted into Prof Herwig Zack's masterclass. There she was awarded the DAAD prize for best foreign student. A year later, she was honoured as the best violinist at the Würzburg University of Music. Futaba Sakaguchi has won prizes at several national and international competitions, including the Concorso Violinistico Internazionale Andrea Postacchini in Italy. She has been a member of the first violins of the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra since 2005.
