Paula Alves

The Brazilian Paula Alves began her dance training at the age of five at the Fundação das Artes de São Caetano do Sul and later studied at the Especial Academia de Ballet in São Paolo, Brazil. She gained her first stage experience during her engagements with the Conpanhia Brasileira de Danças Clássicas, as an elevin of the Texas Ballet and as a member of the São Paulo Dance Company. She danced Odette/Odile in Mario Galizzi's "Swan Lake", choreographies by Uwe Scholz, Thiago Bordin, Marcia Haydée and Ben Stevenson, among others. In 2011, she won the Junior Division Silver Medal at the New York Youth America Grand Prix Finals.

Paula Alves has been a company member of the Ballett am Rhein since the 2020/21 season. She has since danced the role of Clara in Demis Volpi's "The Nutcracker" and in "Krabat" the role of Worschula, as well as in Twyla Tharp's "Commentaries on the Floating World", and Volpi's "sanguinic:con brio".
