Born in Göttingen, Lavinia Dames graduated with honors from the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, having previously studied with Prof. Faulstich at the Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media as part of the early education program for musically gifted children. She has won numerous competitions. In addition to her roles at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the soprano has made guest appearances at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Royal Opera in Stockholm, the Kongelige Operan in Copenhagen, the Theater St. Gallen, the Prinzregententheater Munich, the Aalto Theater Essen, the Cologne Opera, the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Theater Dortmund, the Saarländisches Staatstheater, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, the Theater an der Wien, and, in the summers of 2024 and 2025, the Bayreuth Festival.
In the 2025/26 season, Lavinia Dames will appear at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in roles including Marzelline (Beethoven's “Fidelio”), Liu (Puccini's “Turandot”), Pamina (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”), Gretel (Humperdinck's “Hänsel und Gretel”), Lauretta (Puccini's “Gianni Schicchi”), Flower Maiden (Wagner's “Parsifal”) and Zeitl (Bock's “Anatevka”).
