Alexey Zelenkov

Born in 1988, character baritone Alexey Zelenkov graduated from the Novosibirsk State Conservatory in 2015. He has been an ensemble member of the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater since 2014, where he has appeared on stage in leading roles in his field. Among others, he sang the title characters in Verdi's "Rigoletto" and "Falstaff" as well as the Verdi roles Renato ("Un ballo in maschera") and Amonasro ("Aida"). In addition, he was among others as Scarpia (Puccini "Tosca"), Belcore (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore"), Marcello (Puccini "La Bohème"), Escamillo (Bizet "Carmen"), Tonio (Leoncavallo "I Pagliacci"), Alfio (Mascagni "Cavalleria rusticana"), Biterolf (Wagner "Tannhäuser"), Count Tomski (Tchaikovsky "Pique Dame"), Ibn-Hakia (Tchaikovsky "Iolanta"), Misgir (Rimsky-Korsakov "Snowflake"), Dr. Falke (J. Strauss son "Die Fledermaus"), Escamillo (Bizet "Carmen"), Il Conte di Almaviva (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro") or as Duke Bluebeard in Bartók's "Duke Bluebeard's Castle". In 2019, he made his debut at the Bolshoi Theater Moscow as Rigoletto. He has won several awards, most recently 2nd prize in the 2021 José Carreras Competition.
At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Alexey Zelenkov was heard in the role of Michonnet in Cilea's "Adriana Lecouvreur" in the 2021/22 season and makes a guest appearance here as Scarpia in the 2022/23 season.
