Harry Ogg

The British conductor Harry Ogg has been Kapellmeister at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein since the 2022/23 season, where he has been responsible for the musical direction of Korngold's "Die tote Stadt", Puccini's "Tosca", Mozart's "Don Giovanni" and "Die Zauberflöte" as well as Moritz Eggert's "Iwein Löwenritter". In addition, he has recently made his debuts with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the French symphony orchestra Les Sciécles and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and has also returned to the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also conducted the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse. From 2019 to 2022 he was Musical Assistant to François-Xavier Roth at the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. In addition to various projects of his own, he filled in with great success for François-Xavier Roth as well as Nicholas Collon. Harry Ogg worked as Associate Conductor at the Welsh National Opera, where he conducted Bizet's "Carmen" as well as various gala concerts. He has also conducted "Königskinder" (Humperdinck), "Das schlaue Füchslein" (Janáček), Don Giovanni (Mozart), Hänsel und Gretel" and Madama Butterfly (Puccini) at various opera houses in Europe. Ogg has won numerous prizes and awards, including 3rd prize in the Mahler Conducting Competition in 2020, 2nd prize in the MDR Competition in 2018, and was a finalist in the Donatella Flick Competition. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, he will take over the musical direction of Bock's "Anatevka", Verdi's "La traviata", Rossini's "La Cenerentola", Eggert's "Iwein Löwenritter", Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel", Mozart's "Zauberflöte", Puccini's "Madama Butterfly" and Korngold's "Die tote Stadt" in the 2023/24 season.
