Valerie Eickhoff

Soloist
The mezzo-soprano Valerie Eickhoff completed her vocal studies with Prof. Konrad Jarnot at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. Various scholarships and master classes, including with Brigitte Fassbaender and Bernarda Fink, extended her training. In the 2018/19 season she was a member of the Opera Studio Niederrhein and sang roles such as the 2nd Lady (Mozart "The Magic Flute"), Fjodor (Mussorgsky "Boris Godunow") and Cupido (Offenbach "Orpheus in the Underworld"). After a year in the opera studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she sang Schäfer (Ravel's "L'Enfant et les sortilèges"), Sandmännchen (Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel"), Annina (Verdi's "La traviata") and Kate Pinkerton (Puccini's "Madama Butterfly"), Valerie Eickhoff bhecame a member of the permanent ensemble in the 2020/21 season. In addition to her operatic activities, she regularly performs in recitals. In 2021 she made her debut as Stallmagd (Humperdinck "Königskinder") at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl. She attracted attention nationally at internationally renowned competitions such as Neue Stimmen and the Glyndebourne Opera Cup; in September 2021 she won 3rd prize in the ARD Music Competition in the singing category and in January 2022 she was awarded the Emmerich Smola Prize in two categories: She won the Media Prize for Young Opera Stars as well as the Orchestra Prize. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Valerie Eickhoff most recently sang the roles of Diana (Offenbach "Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Rosina (Rossini "Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Hänsel (Humperdinck "Hänsel und Gretel"), Cherubino (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro"), Annina (Verdi "La traviata") and the title role in "Ronja Räubertochter" (Arnecke). In the 2022/23 season she will be a guest at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen, among others, and can be seen as Uli in the world premiere of Lucia Ronchetti's "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer" and Lucienne in Korngold's "Die tote Stadt", again as Cherubino and Hänsel as well as in "Swinging Christmas" and the AIDS Gala.
