Elena Sancho Pereg

Soloist
Elena Sancho Pereg studied singing at the Real Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In the critics' polls of "Welt" and "Opernwelt" she was named Young Singer of the Year 2015, the state of NRW awarded her the Förderpreis in 2015 and in the same year she was nominated for the FAUST. Since 2014/15, the Spanish soprano has been an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where she made her debut as Zerbinetta (Strauss' "Ariadne auf Naxos"). This was followed by Gilda (Verdi "Rigoletto"), Oscar (Verdi "Un ballo in maschera"), Sophie (Massenet "Werther"), Fiakermilli (Strauss "Arabella"), Norina (Donizetti "Don Pasquale"), Nannetta (Verdi "Falstaff), Clorinda (Rossini "La Cenerentola") and Fradl (Weinberg "Masel Tov! We congratulate!"), among others. Her repertoire includes such roles as Marie (Donizetti "La fille du régiment"), Musetta (Puccini "La Bohème"), Lisa (Bellini "La sonnambula"), Donna Anna (Mozart "Don Giovanni"), Morgana (Handel "Alcina"), Waldvogel (Wagner "Siegfried"), Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro") as well as Olympia/Stella (Offenbach "Les contes d'Hoffmann"), Eurydice (Offenbach "Orpheus in der Unterwelt"), Adina (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore") and besides a multitude of other roles Sophie (R. Strauss "Der Rosenkavalier"). Guest engagements have taken her to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg and the Ópera de Oviedo, the Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Teatro Real in Madrid and the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, among others. She has also performed at the Festival Oper im Steinbruch Sankt Margarethen and at the Munich Opera Festival. Elena Sancho Pereg's roles for the 2023/24 season include Soeur Constance in Poulenc's "Dialogues des Carmélites", Offenbach's Eurydice and Flower Girl 1 in Wagner's "Parsifal".
