The bass Bogdan Talos, from Cluj-Napoca in Romania, graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy there in 2005, attended various master classes and is a prize-winner of numerous renowned singing competitions. Before becoming an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in the 2014/15 season, he began his professional career at the opera houses in Cluj-Napoca and Craiova. His repertoire includes, among others, the Mozart roles Figaro ("Le nozze di Figaro"), Leporello ("Don Giovanni") and Sarastro ("Die Zauberflöte"), Donizetti's Don Pasquale, Raimondo ("Lucia di Lammermoor") and Talbot ("Maria Stuarda"), Alidoro ("La Cenerentola" by Rossini), Verdi's Ferrando ("Il trovatore"), Banco ("Macbeth"), Marquis d'Obigny ("La traviata"), Il Re ("Aida") and Filippo II. ("Don Carlo"), Sir Giorgio (Bellini "I puritani"), Hermann / Schlemihl (Offenbach "Les Contes d'Hoffmann"), Brother Laurent (Gounod "Roméo et Juliette"), Fasolt (Wagner "Das Rheingold"), Colline and Schaunard (Puccini "La Bohème"), Truffaldin (Strauss "Ariadne auf Naxos"), Herold (Prokofiev "Die Liebe zu den drei Orangen"), Count Boyazovich (Kálmán "Die Herzogin von Chicago"), Monk (Schreier "Schade, dass sie eine Hure war") and Bluebeard (Bartók "Herzog Blaubarts Burg"). His concert repertoire includes the Requiem settings of Mozart, Verdi and Brahms as well as Beethoven's 9th Symphony. He has made guest appearances at opera houses such as the Opéra National de Paris, the Komische Oper Berlin and the Staatsoper Hamburg, and will make his debut at the Semperoper in Dresden in 2023. In the 2022/23 season Bogdan Talos will interpret the roles of Count Rodolfo (Bellini "La sonnambula"), Leporello and Banco at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
