David Fischer

Tenor David Fischer has been a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble since the 2019/20 season. In 2021 he made his role debut as Tamino in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte" and has also performed roles such as Beppe (Leoncavallo's "Pagliacci"), Malcom (Verdi's "Macbeth"), Tybalt (Gounod's "Roméo et Juliette"), Harlequin (Ullmann's "Der Kaiser von Atlantis"), Alfred in J. Strauss' (son) "Die Fledermaus" and, among many others, Steuermann in Wagner's "Der fliegende Holländer". On an international level he is regularly active as a concert singer. Concert engagements have taken him on tour in Asia and Europe under René Jacobs, on tour in Europe under Philippe Herreweghe, at the Berlin Philharmonie under Sylvain Cambreling, at the NDR Hanover under Andrew Manze, at the Budapest Palace of Arts under Ádám Fischer and on tour in Germany with Mendelssohn's "Die erste Walpurgisnacht" under Frieder Bernius. A recording of this production was released by Carus. David Fischer also works closely with his Finnish song partner Pauliina Tukiainen, with whom he has given recitals at the Festival classique des Haudères, in Geneva, at the Schumannfest in Bonn, and others. In 2022, the song duo made their debut at the Schaffhausen Master Concerts. Further engagements have taken him to the Salzburg Festival and the Salzburg Landestheater as Tamino, among others. In the 2022/23 season David Fischer will make a guest appearance as Piquillo in Offenbach's "La Périchole" at the Theater an der Wien. Concert engagements await him in Wroclaw, at the NDR Hannover, at the Salzburg Festival and, among others, at the Tage Alter Musik Herne, where a CD production will be made under Andreas Spering. At the Deutsche Oper am Rhein he will appear as Johnny in Lucia Ronchetti's world premiere of "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer", in the series "Symphoniker im Foyer" and again as Steuermann, Malcolm, Harlekin, Alfred and Tamino.
