British baritone Jake Muffett studied at the University of York and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London with Dominic Wheeler and Martin Lloyd-Evans, among others. In 2018 he participated as a Jerwood Young Artist at the Glyndebourne Festival, where he debuted in the role of the Official Registrar in Puccini's Madama Butterfly. In 2019 he was part of the Young Artist programme at the National Opera Studio in London. In the same year, he appeared as Mauregato in Schubert's "Alfonso and Estrella" at Opera de Bauge and took part in various productions of the Northern Opera Group in Leeds. Covering the role of Figaro in Mozart's "Le nozze di Figaro", he accompanied the UK tour of Welsh National Opera. In the musical field, he also sang in Stephen Sondheim's "Passion" as Lt. Barri at the Italian Summer Academy Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano. As a concert singer he has performed throughout Europe and several times at the Royal Albert Hall in London. In the 2020/21 season Jake Muffett was a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, in 2022/23 he joined the ensemble permanently. Here he sang, among others. Fiorillo (Rossini "Il barbiere di Siviglia"), Don Quixote (de Falla "Master Pedro's Puppet Show"), Roman (Wittenbrink "Comedian Harmonists in Concert"), Steuermann (Wagner "Tristan und Isolde"), Student (Bach/Stöppler "Christmas Oratorio - Scenes from a Sleepless Night"), Müller (Montsalvatge "Puss in Boots"), Quinault (Cilea "Adriana Lecouvreur"), Ping (Puccini "Turandot"), Doctor Malatesta (Donizetti "Don Pasquale" or Dr. Falke (J. Strauss son "Die Fledermaus").
