Born in Romania, soprano Luiza Fatyol comes from a family of musicians. She completed her vocal studies at the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Cluj-Napoca with distinction. She has won several prizes, such as at the Romanian Song Competition of the Romanian Composers' Association and at the Hariclea Darclée International Singing Competition in Brăila. From 2011 to 2014 she was a member of the Opera Studio of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and joined the permanent ensemble in the 2014/15 season. Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna (Mozart "Le nozze di Figaro"), Vitellia (Mozart "La clemenza di Tito"), Adina (Donizetti "L'elisir d'amore"), Norina (Donizetti "Don Pasquale"), Juliette (Gounod "Roméo et Juliette"), Micaëla (Bizet "Carmen"), Gilda (Verdi "Rigoletto"), Lauretta (Puccini "Gianni Schicchi"), Violetta Valéry (Verdi "La traviata"), Nedda (Leoncavallo "I Pagliacci") and Gerhilde (Wagner "Die Walküre"). In summer 2020 she recorded Giacomo Meyerbeer's first Italian opera "Romilda e Costanza" for Naxos Records at the Rossini Festival in Bad Wildbad. In 2022 she made her debut in Verdi's "Messa da Requiem" with the Banat Philharmonic Orchestra Timișoara (Romania). In the 2022/23 season Luiza Fatyol can be seen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein as Donna Elvira in "Don Giovanni" (Mozart), Agnes Sorel in "The Maid of Orleans" (Tchaikovsky), 1st Lady in "The Magic Flute" (Mozart), Liu in "Turandot" (Puccini) and Salome in "Hérodiade" (Massenet).
