Fabio Stoll

Fabio Stoll was born in Frankfurt a.M. in 1984. After studying media dramaturgy at the University of Mainz, he went on to study documentary film and camera at the University of Television and Film in Munich. Initially he worked as a camera assistant and operator on theatre and television productions for Theo Bierkens, Hans Fromm and Rogier Stoffers. As a cameraman, he now works on feature films and documentaries as well as in the field of virtual reality. Among others, he took over the image design of the cinema documentaries "Guerilla Köche" and "665 Freunde" by director Jonas Gernstl and the feature film debut of Rok Biček's "Class Enemy". For his work on this film, Fabio Stoll received the Vesna Award for Best Image Design in Slovenia. He is also responsible for the lighting and photoscan of the immersive mystery adventure game "Blautopf VR - Secret of the Lau", which was awarded the Innovation Prize of the German Developer Award. For the multiple award-winning 2022 TV film "Die Wannseekonferenz", he was in charge of the 2nd camera. His work also extends to the artistic design of opera productions. For example, he was responsible for the video design of the cinematic music theatre "Dichterliebe" (Christian Jost) at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and designed the videos for "Impresario Dotcom" (Čekovská) at the Bregenz Festival, directed by Elisabeth Stöppler, with whom he has already collaborated several times.
In 2023, video designs will be created for Franziska Angerer at the Staatstheater Darmstadt for "The Prison" (Smyth) and at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein for "Das fliegende Klassenzimmer" (Ronchetti), directed by Ilaria Lanzino.
