Oliver Haller

Oliver Haller (born 1967, Flensburg, Germany) studied costume and fashion design at the Fashion Academy Charles Montaigne in Amsterdam and became a master scenographer at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. After his studies he worked in musicals for Joop van den Ende Theater productions, later as a designer’s assistant for the Salzburg Festival, opera director Peter Sellars and The Dutch Opera. Since May 2003 he is the head of the costume department at Dutch National Ballet (Het Nationale Ballet). He also works as a freelance costume designer. For Krzysztof Pastor he designed “Moving Rooms”, “Sheherazade” and “Dumbarton Dances”, for Ted Brandsen “Body” and for Juanjo Arques amongst others “Minos”, “Consequence”, “Blink” and “Homo Ludens”. Fpr the Moscow Ballet he worked in 2018 on “Transcription of Color”. The last 10 years he has designed numerous costume designs for ballets for the Junior Company at the Dutch National Ballet for several choreographers. In 2012 was one of the founding fathers of the Dutch master school for tailoring (Meesteropleiding Coupeur) and worked at the board of advisors until 2023. In 2022 he was responsible for the re-design of Hans van Manen’s “Four Schumann Pieces” in Vienna.
