Parliamentary session for a perfect country
Pinocchio is a wooden puppet who wants to become a real child. How does that work?
Be good, always go to school, study hard, eat healthy things and listen to the grown-ups... Adults always know what's going on and tell you what to do. That's what Carlo Collodi, the author of the classic Italian children's book “Pinocchio”, did. But now it's over: In the version of the story that Marius Schötz and Marthe Meinhold bring to the stages of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in their new family opera “Pinocchio”, Pinocchio wants to know exactly what to do: What does it even mean to be good? And what does the Perfect Land look like, which is so called because everything there is perfect? Now the Pinocchio Parliament gathers and, together with other children, develops the best ideas for a Perfect Country. We consult with real experts on democracy and think about what we should do with the adults. So you'll be super well prepared when it comes to realizing whether what adults say really always makes sense.
