Vinícius Vieira

With the company since 2022/23

Vinícius Vieira was born in Joinville, in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, and studied at the Bolshoi Theatre School in Brazil from 2003 to 2011. In 2012, he joined Companhia Jovem Bolshoi Brasil under the direction of Pavel Kazarian, where he performed in Jomar Mesquita’s “Jurei Pro Amor Um Dia Te Encontrar”, Vladimir Vasiliev’s “Giselle”, Marius Petipa’s “Raymonda” and Vladimir Vasiliev’s “Elegya”. He also danced the role of Prince Désiré in Marius Petipa’s “Dornröschen”, in Mario Galizzi’s version for the Municipal Theatre of Lima, Peru. As a dancer with Companhia de Dança de São Paulo, he performed soloist roles in “Schwanensee”, “La Sylphide” and Mario Galizzi’s “Spectre de la Rose”, Ana Botafogo’s “Les Sylphides”, Lars Van Cauwenbergh’s “Giselle”, as well as in Edouard Lock’s “The Seasons and Trick Cell Play”, Goyo Montero’s “Anthem”, Clébio de Oliveira’s “Céu Cinzento”, Stephen Shropshire’s “Rococo Variation”, William Forsythe’s “Workwithinwork”, Jiří Kylián’s “Petite Mort”, Uwe Scholz’s “Suite für zwei Klaviere”, Nacho Duato’s “Gnawa” and Joëlle Bouvier’s “Odisseia”.

He moved to Europe for the 2022/23 season and has since been a member of Ballett am Rhein, where he has appeared in the title roles of Demis Volpi’s “Krabat” and “Der Nussknacker”. His repertoire with the company also includes Marcos Morau’s “Le sacre du printemps”, Hélène Blackburn’s “Coppélia x Machina”, Jean-Christophe Maillot’s “Vers un Pays Sage”, Bridget Breiner’s “Daphnis et Chloé, Suiten” and John Neumeier’s “A Streetcar named desire”.
