Il trittico

Giacomo Puccini juxtaposed three different narratives in his opera triptych – in Dietrich W. Hilsdorf's production in a new order:
From the comedy “Gianni Schicchi,” set in 1299, in which a cunning farmer outwits a gang of inheritance hunters, to the Renaissance drama of “Suor Angelica,” a nun driven mad by her fellow sisters, to the tragedy of jealousy Il tabarro, set in the Parisian working-class milieu at the beginning of the 20th century.
A Puccini evening that vividly illustrates the failure of all human interaction and ends with a piercing cry of horror.
