Annabel Kennedy, a mezzo-soprano from England, is a prize winner of the Concours Palet and the International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch. At Garsington Opera, she sang Juno (Rameau's “Platée”) and Cherubino (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”). She has been engaged in several productions at the Glyndebourne Festival, including as the understudy for Hermia in Britten's “A Midsummer Night's Dream”. Her repertoire includes Hänsel (Humperdinck's “Hänsel und Gretel”), Second Lady (Mozart's “Die Zauberflöte”), Flora Bervoix (Verdi's “La traviata”), The Child (Ravel's “L'enfant et les sortilèges”) and Minskwoman (Dove's “Flight”). Concert engagements have taken her to Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall, where she sang the “Rückert-Lieder” with the RCM Philharmonic and Euterpe in Händel's “Il Parnasso in festa” with the London Chamber Orchestra. As a member of the opera studio at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, she has appeared as Ikuma (Valtinoni's “Die Reise zu Planet 9”), Sandmännchen (Humperdinck's “Hänsel und Gretel”), Second Witch (Purcell's “Dido and Aeneas”) and Flora Bervoix. She completed her training at the Royal College of Music in London.
In the 2025/26 season, she will appear as Bénoni (Gounod's “Die Königin von Saba”), Second Maid (R. Strauss' “Elektra”), Nirena (Händel's “Giulio Cesare in Egitto”), Siegrune (Wagner's “Die Walküre”), Cherubino (Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”) and once again as the Sandmännchen. She will also be appearing regularly in the opera studio's masterclass concerts.
