Stefanie C. Salm

Stefanie C. Salm was born in Augsburg and initially trained as a dressmaker in a couture atelier after graduating from high school. Further practical experience followed in the field of furriery, as well as in the costume departments of the Bavarian State Opera and the Musical Theater Füssen. After studying at the German Master School for Fashion in Munich, she gained further qualifications as a directrice, in fashion design and as a master tailor for women and men. Today, Stefanie C. Salm has many years of professional experience in haute couture and in the fashion industry with numerous fashion houses and designers. Together with the duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos, she created a collection for Paris Fashion Week. She has also presented her own models in Paris and Berlin, among other places. She worked as a costume designer at the Theater Krefeld-Mönchengladbach and designed costumes for productions at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and various music academies. She has also collaborated artistically with Martin Schläpfer, Remus Sucheana, Michèle Anne de Mey and Demis Volpi. She was initially hired as production manager at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in 2007/08, and Stefanie C. Salm took over as head of the costume department for the 2014/15 season.
